About
An independent reference, by design.
USEquity exists to explain one thing well: how home equity works in the United States, in language a homeowner can actually use.
Why this resource exists
Home equity is the largest asset most American households will ever hold, and also the one surrounded by the most sales pressure. Lenders, brokers, and buyers all have a product to move. We have none. That gap — clear information with nothing attached — is what this site is for.
What we publish
Concise, source-minded guides on the fundamentals of equity, the ways to access it, the tax and risk considerations, and the judgment calls that surround each. Everything is free to read with no registration.
What we are not
USEquity is not a lender, mortgage broker, real-estate broker, or financial, legal, or tax adviser. We do not originate loans, purchase property, or earn a commission on any transaction described here. Nothing on this site is advice; for decisions of consequence, consult a licensed professional.
